PAY NOTHING until Stage Two
Receive the book and experience what we offer at Stage One before committing to the whole program
STAGE ONE
Study the Handbook supplied and User Guide for YOUR camera. Identify any special features of YOUR camera relating to:
• Exposure settings
• Mode settings (based on the mode dial)
• Autofocus
Submit your Portfolio ONE, usually within two weeks of enrolling, with:
a set of 8 to 12 images taken using different camera settings. Provide the setting information with your submission.
Your tutor/mentor will send you written comments within 5 working days, and you can follow this up with a ONE-TO-ONE session of up to 30 minutes.
STAGE TWO
Submit your Portfolio TWO, usually within three weeks of your first 1-to-1 session. This portfolio should have:
A pair of shots of the same subject with different zoom settings.
A pair of shots of the same subject with different exposure settings.
A pair of shots of the same subject before and after use of software for image processing.
A pair of shots of the same subject with different composition.
Your tutor will send you written comments within 5 working days, and you can follow this up with a ONE-TO-ONE session of up to 30 minutes.
STAGE THREE
Submit your Portfolio THREE, usually within three weeks of your second 1-to-1 session. The portfolio should have a set of at least 8 original images that all belong to ONE of the following genres:
• Macro photography
• Studio portraiture
• Studio still life
• Outdoor portraiture
• Street photography
• Sports photography,
• Documentary photography
• Natural world photography (plants and animals)
• Architectural photography
• Landscape photography
• Abstract photography
STAGE FOUR
Submit your Final Personal Portfolio of twelve images, usually within four weeks of your third 1-to-1 session, based on personal preferences and decisions. These will be assessed according to the following criteria:
• originality and creativity
• visual impact
• composition, including background
• technical quality to match the subject matter, including resolution, focus and appropriate depth of field, appropriate exposure, appropriate image processing
The program should be completed in 14 weeks.
Work will be assessed as below and certificates are awarded at Pass, Distinction and Merit levels.
